Project Architect (potential to be based in office, or remotely)

The Role
We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team in either our Christchurch or Napier offices, or for the right candidate, working remotely from any of the main centres in New Zealand.

You will be part of a team and will be working directly with the practice directors to deliver a broad range of projects. The role will entail responsibility for team coordination, discharging deliverables to highest degree of quality and on time. Part of the Project Architect’s responsibilities will also include Revit architectural modelling, detailing and documentation alongside graduates / technicians. Other aspects will include hand sketching, report and presentations preparation, site observation, specification writing, liaison with territorial authorities.

Required experience and skills:
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience acting as Project Architect and overseeing construction projects

  • Excellent work ethics and diligence

  • Passion for architecture and proven experience delivering high-quality design and construction

  • NZRAB registered

  • Construction observation

  • 10 years’ experience post-graduation, and 3 years post-registration

  • 4 years recent NZ experience on commercial and/or multi-level (4+ levels minimum) apartment projects

  • Strong technical and communication skills

  • Enjoys multi-disciplinary team thinking and shows initiative

  • Proficiency with Revit modelling and documentation

  • Skills in Photoshop and or InDesign

  • Understands the performance of buildings and ESD principles

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Architect or Senior Graduate / Technician to join our team in our Christchurch office on a full-time basis. You will be part of a team and will be working directly with the practice directors to deliver a broad range of projects. The role will be strongly focussed on delivering coordinated Revit architectural modelling, detailing and documentation. Other aspects will include hand sketching, report and presentations preparation, site observation, specification writing, liaison with territorial authorities and design coordination with other design disciplines and consultants.

Required experience and skills:

To fulfill this role, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to work independently.

  • Passion for architecture and proven experience delivering high-quality design and construction.

  • NZRAB registration or close to registration (not applicable for Technicians).

  • Construction observation beneficial.

  • In between 5 to 8 years’ New Zealand experience post-graduation.

  • Strong technical and communication skills.

  • Enjoys multi-disciplinary team thinking and shows initiative.

  • Proficiency with Revit modelling and documentation is a must.

  • Skills in Photoshop and or InDesign.

  • Understands the performance of buildings and ESD principles.

  • Experience of design and team coordination and overseeing construction projects beneficial.

Aspects of the Structural Engineer role that we are seeking involve:

Required attributes, experience and skills:

·         Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in the structural engineering sector, preferably chartered professional (CPEng), or close to becoming chartered.

·         The relevant NZ Hons Degree or equivalent Washington Accord.

·         Passion for structural engineering and innovative design.

·         Proven experience in designing creative structures in steel, concrete and timber.

·         Applied 3D analysis and design.

·         Good communicator with complimentary abilities in report writing and specifications.

·         Proven understanding in seismic design of structural systems for commercial buildings up to 3 stories.

·         Beneficial - experience in designing geometric structures and/or fabric structures.

·         Aptitude to learn.
